Boda Astrid & Nicolás. Sesión de Fotos, día de lluvia.

Astrid & Nicolás se casaron en Termas de Peumayén en la comuna de Pucon, recuerdo que no programamos nada específico para su sesión, ya que allí hay muchos lugares donde hacer buenas fotos, por lo que no teníamos mayor preocupación, desafortunadamente al acercarse la fecha, vimos que se pronosticaba lluvia para esos días. Cuando llegué ese día a Villarrica (donde se realizaría la ceremonia) estaba a punto de llover, era cosa de tiempo - en una publicación anterior en mi Blog hablé de como un Fotógrafo debe adaptarse y dar alternativas- fue así como decidimos con Astrid, hacer una pequeña sesión antes de su ceremonia, ya que no llovía aún, (era muy probable que luego de la ceremonia si lo estuviese).

¿Dónde hacer la sesión? Villarrica y Pucon tienen muchos lugares donde hacer bonitas fotos, pero con lluvia y el tiempo que apremiaba, créeme que las opciones se minimizan (Obviamente estoy hablando de hacer algo al aire libre y sin que la Novia estropee su vestido). Que hacer? ..era resolver, determinar ahí, en el momento. Decidimos hacerlo en la costanera de Villarrica que nos quedaba muy cerca del lugar donde se preparaba Astrid. Aquí me gustaría detenerme y hablar respecto de los lugares para hacer una Sesión, no es necesario un "super lugar" o un gran entorno para hacer buenas fotos, creo que un buen Fotógrafo debe saber "leer", analizar lo que tiene a su alrededor y ver que hace con ello, es decir; transformar cualquier lugar en un buen escenario.

Hicimos esa pequeña sesión y luego nos fuimos a la ceremonia. Al término, como era de suponer, ya estaba lloviendo, no era algo persistente pero si una lluvia que no nos dejaba hacer fotos sin algo que nos protegiera.

Nos fuimos al lugar de la celebración y decidimos - en el camino - pasar al campo de unos amigos de Astrid y Nicolas y buscar allí algún lugar que nos protegiera de la lluvia y que nos permitiera hacer algunas fotos. Encontramos un pequeño bosque y logramos hacerlas, además, el auto que trasladaba a los Novios es del Padre de Nicolás, una Chevrolet Apache del año 1956, que acondicionó especialmente para ese día y que por supuesto incluímos en nuestra sesión.

La fotografía tiene mucho de creatividad, de iniciativa, de determinación, de saber decidir. Estas "pequeñas cosas" de pronto pueden hacer una gran diferencia. Jean Pierre Boudon.

Nicolás and Astrid's Wedding: The photo-shoot.

Astrid and Nicolás married in a place called "Peumayén Thermal Spring" in Pucón. Since there are so many good landmarks around to create a good photo-shoot, we did not decided on any location in particular. Honestly, we were not very worried about that. Unfortunately, as the days came by, we learned that it was going to rain on their wedding day and that created a problem. The day finally came and I arrived at the ceremony location, it was very cloudy and it was just a matter of time to start raining- in the last post I talked about how the photographer had to know how to adapt and offer solutions. So with that in mind, and as it was not raining yet, Astrid and I decided to do a short photo-shoot before the ceremony (it was clearly going to rain afterwards).

Now, where do we do the photo-shoot? Villarrica and Pucón, as I said before, have so many great locations to take beautiful photos, but the weather and, specially, the rain made everything more difficult because we wanted to do something on the outside and the rain was going to ruin the bride's make up and dress... What should we do?! we had to make a decision right there, in that moment. After talking about it, we settled on taking the photos on the Villarica coast line as it was really nearby to where Astrid was getting ready. I would like to stop here and emphasize on this point, it is not necessary to have an extraordinary location or an exceptional surrounding to create a good photo-shoot, I think, a good photographer has to know how to "read", analyze what you have to work with and to figure it out what to do with it, I mean, transform any ordinary place into a good scenario.

So, we did the photo-shoot and afterwards we went to the ceremony. While it was finishing, as we knew, it began to rain. The rain was not that heavy but we could not have taken any great photo good with it.

Afterwards, we moved to the reception and, without much thinking, we decided to pass by to the countryside, specifically, to Nicolás and Astrid's friend's house in order to find there a place to shelter from the rain and to take some photos. The scenario was this gorgeous and small forest and we used the car that drove the newlyweds to the ceremony, this was a beautiful Chevrolet Apache truck from 1956 and it looked great on the photos.

Photography has a lot of creativity, initiative, determination and to know how to make decisions. These "little things" suddenly can make a huge difference. Jean Pierre Boudon
